The internet is reeling over the Oscar nominations released this past Tuesday, and the people are divided. Some feel that ‘Barbie’ producer and lead actress Margot Robbie and director Greta Gerwig were “snubbed” for the Best Actress and Best Director nominations. Others argue they were nominated for ‘writing (adapted screenplay), best picture, and others.
Not to mention, America Ferrera was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, along with Ryan Gosling for Actor in a Supporting Role - which really sent people’s heads for a spin.
What’s most funny about this quote (and the whole Barbie snub situation) is that “fighting to get a movie made” is the role of a producer, a thing that Margot Robbie is quite literally nominated for

Being eclipsed by the Barbie discourse is the incredible news that Lily Gladstone is making Oscars history as 1st Native American nominated for best actress for her performance in 'Killers of the Flower Moon.’ A film with an impressive 10 nominations this year, also another Leonardo DiCaprio, Scorsese collaboration so you know it’s a good one.
A federal court ruled Trudeau’s decision to invoke the Emergencies Act during the “Freedom Convoy” violated charter rights, but acknowledges the participating Canadians, also went overboard disrupting the lives of Canadians.
While Canadians are divided on “who won,” the real winner is democracy, holding both the government and citizens accountable.
A federal court just ruled Trudeau’s decision to invoke the Emergencies Act during the “Freedom Convoy” violated charter rights.
But anyone seeing this as a victory for the convoy is….really, really wrong.
Here’s why.
